My former World Bank colleague Karl Skansing did, and he gave me carte blanche to enter it into competitions for him (I didn’t) or do whatever with it. The photo has fascinated me for years, just trying to imagine the woman’s lifestyle and likely hardships in dark and cold winters. With her dog (down right). Karl and I worked together in Georgia (South Caucasus), and he shot the photo in the Tusheti area in the northeast of the country. I find it amazing and think it should be seen. Here it is.
